About the Position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees and directs the accounting, finance, treasury, information technology/systems, and Human Resource functions of the business. The CFO develops a long-range financial plan for the company and monitors and implements strategies to achieve the goals of the plan. Functions as a member of the company’s Executive Team.

Responsibilities

Strategic Management of Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Information Technology, and Human Resources:

  • Manages the accounting function including governance, internal controls, recording and reporting financial activities; coordinates all aspects of audits and maintains auditor relationships
  • Manages the finance function which includes, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and the development and implementation of long-range strategic financial plans. Monitors strategies to continually achieve goals
  • Provides recommendations based on financial analysis, data, and company goals; correlates financial impact of decisions in real-time with operational and financial data; reviews and clearly communicates financial reporting to the President, Executive Team and GloryBee Board
  • Manages the treasury functions including cash management, capital raising and risk management; cultivates and maintains relationships with banks, insurance companies, other financial vendors
  • Manages the information technology function including the development and implementation of long-range information technology plans and strategies; plans and executes growth-oriented technology enhancements to the company’s technology base
  • Plans, organizes and implements the annual budget for the company; provides monthly forecasts
  • Manages the budget for the Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, and Human Resources departments
  • Manages the Human Resources function, including; compliance to regulatory HR requirements; developing members of the HR team; establishes clear expectations related to recruitment, onboarding, total compensation, employee relations, engagement and retention, training and organizational development, performance management, HR policies and procedures, and other areas of HR
  • Acts as the point of contact for our legal counsel for projects, contracts, and agreements that require legal review
  • Ensures legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitors/ensures compliance with laws, regulations and company policies
  • Assures the highest level of confidentiality on sensitive matters concerning the business

Leadership:

  • Assists in the development of the strategic direction of the company
  • Develops direct reports for growth and improved performance; creates accountability and drives performance through the design and utilization of KPIs and other performance goals
  • Optimizes operations for the Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Information Technology and Human Resources departments; develops a system of robust internal controls and monitors for continuous improvements
  • Supervises assigned personnel, allocates work and makes decisions regarding employment, performance appraisals, training and development, salary recommendations, promotions and transfers
  • Communicates a vision for organizational success that motivates others
  • Establishes effective relationships with other members of the Executive Team
  • Attends Board of Director meetings to present financial information
  • Keeps abreast of current market and industry issues, regulations and policies, and maintains relationships with the community, and industry trade groups

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting, finance or relevant field. MBA or Masters in a relevant field, preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in a senior level role managing accounting and finance operations, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Previous experience in a CFO position with supervisory responsibilities in a similar size organization
  • Executive level experience in strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, accounting principles and technical accounting skills
  • Excellent team-building, coaching and performance management skills of direct reports
  • Ability to gather and process information from multiple sources and apply to the organization
  • Ability to work with a variety of functional areas
  • Solid knowledge and experience in Technology leadership in ERP and software sourcing and implementation
  • Proficiency in MS office and financial management software
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the propensity to successfully foster and maintain long-standing relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written; skilled in the art of negotiation
  • Expert problem solver, analytical thinker, and decision maker
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, delegate responsibilities and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong self-awareness with the demonstrated ability to effectively build teams and lead change
  • CPA or other relevant qualifications is a plus
